OUR EXPERIENCES

The Angel in Abergavenny is a distinctive Welsh retreat in the heart of one of South Wales’ most picturesque market towns. A proud member of PoB Hotels and named the UK’s Best Foodie Hotel by The Times and The Sunday Times in 2025, it offers guests a memorable introduction to the landscapes, flavours and traditions of Wales. From dramatic mountain scenery, historic castles and spectacular gardens to traditional male voice choir performances and exceptional local food, Abergavenny is rich in experiences. With elegant accommodation, warm Welsh hospitality and a relaxed sense of luxury, The Angel is an inviting base for discovering the beauty, heritage and culture of Wales.

ABOUT US

The Angel aims to be the hotel of choice in the regional area, consistently customer focused through embracing our values of quality, style and value for money. We strive to provide exceptional Welsh hospitality to all guests and to be a central hub of our town community, providing jobs and bringing visitors to our town from all over the world.

IMPACT

The Angel is a focal point in the town, renowned for high standards, quality products and exceptional hospitality. The local family behind the hotel has invested heavily in restoring tired buildings in the town over the past 25 years, creating vibrant businesses and employment opportunities for the local community and further afield.

The Angel provides meeting space for local organisations and supports festivals and initiatives, including the Abergavenny Food Festival, Wall to Wall Jazz Festival, Christmas markets and Abergavenny in Bloom, helping make the town a thriving destination.

The hotel sources ingredients as locally as possible and supports local businesses for renovations and furniture, fixtures and fittings. It also supports STUMP up for Trees, a scheme to plant a million trees in the national park, donating for each room night sold and inviting guests to contribute.
